Dog portrait: First Flickr photo award

Mention of Flickr awards for Canis bonus pet photography profile on Flickr.
By Laure-Anne Viselé, June 2010

Technophobia centre here (aka myself) has finally got the hang of Flickr, and I am really pleased I pushed on through. I’ve discovered a community giving me access to:

  • a mine of critical and encouraging comments,
  • sources of inspiration, and
  • sounding boards for photographic techniques.

To top it all, I got my first Flickr award today.

This is the photo that got the award. It was taken while out on a photoshoot in ‘s Gravenzande, with my good friend and fellow photographer Jan-Willem. We got told off by a local that evening because we inadvertently parked in his private car park, but we got the best sunset that night, so it was more than worth the reprimand.

So, thank you, fellow Flickrians, it’s an honour!

Any comments?

I always value your comments, so don’t be shy and share your thoughts. I would particularly like to hear from you if you:

  • Are a (pet) photographer using Flickr.
    • How do you use Flickr? Just to host your portfolio, or do you use it for other marketing means?
    • Would you recommend other photography hosting communities?
    • Do you have any tips to share about how to increase your influence on Flickr?
  • Are a viewer and have comments on the picture.
    • Did you (not) like it? Why?
